MISSION
STATEMENT
Stanley
Erle Gardner Middle School is located in the southern part of
the Temecula Valley Unified School District. Our
students primarily live in single family homes with two
parents. We have several families where one or both of
the parents are in the military while other families
live in the wine country. Approximately half of our
parents commute to work and the other half have a
stay-at-home parent.
The
school was named after Erle
Stanley Gardner a lawyer-turned-writer, best known for bringing Perry Mason to life
through novels, radio, film and television, moved from his home and
law office in Ventura, California, and settled in Temecula on a
3,000-acre ranch he dubbed "Rancho del Paisano." Remaining
there from 1937 until his death on March 11, 1970, he was an
inexhaustible writer, sometimes dictating 5,000 words to one of his
four secretaries before breakfast. He also indulged his outdoorsman
spirit by exploring the rugged ranch with his dogs. Gardner credited
his dog "Rip" with finding Temecula.

QUALITY
OF INSTRUCTION |
TVUSD
aligns its curriculum with state standards and
provides enrichment activities at the site
level to support instruction. The District
also holds a philosophy that each school
principal should be the Instructional Leader
on that campus.
As such, principals take an active role in the
learning process at each TVUSD school,
spending much of their day in the classroom.
TVUSD teachers are evaluated and given areas
for improvement by their principals. To aide
in this endeavor, administrators are trained
in evaluation skills.
This training is designed to help
administrators evaluate their staff in a
manner that will produce better teaching in
the classroom and thus enhance student
success. Staff development days enhance this
quest for excellence by giving teachers the
tools needed to succeed in an on-going manner.
