Born and raised in California, Ty Turley-Trejo began piano lessons at an early age and showed his musical prowess as he began to compose music in his early teens.
Continuing his education at Brigham Young University, Ty decided to pursue music and was accepted into the one-of-a-kind Media Music Studies program there. He will finish his degree in April 2010. At BYU Ty studies contemporary vocal technique, modern songwriting and traditional recording techniques This unique degree program prepares students for careers in the competitive and ever-changing commercial music sector.
Ty's undergraduate career has taken him all the way to Vienna, where he studied and lived for four months, as well as Prague, Budapest, Croatia, Italy, and all throughout Western Europe. He just recently finished an internship in Los Angeles with 20th Century Fox. His musical background is as diverse as his ethnicity. In Europe he discovered the art of the classical voice, which led to his singing in BYU's recent Fall opera, "The Tales of Hoffman", and continues private, auxiliary study in classical technique with the prestigious Jeannie Vincent. He has also played the parts of Sky Masterson in Guys and Dolls and Danny Zuko/Kenickie in Grease.
Currently he is working as an accompanist for BYU Modern Dance and Ballet courses and as well theMusic Clearance/Licensing Coordinator with BYU Broadcasting. He is continuing to write, record and roduce his 3rd Album, which will be a follow-up to his most recent EP entitled "Acoustic EP", released in January 2009 and available on Tunes.
