Voorburg Park

Description: Voorburg Park was built and named after Voorburg, Holland. One of two Temecula's sister cities. Temecula's other sister city is Nakayama, Japan. The city of Leidschendam-Voorburg, is located in the Netherlands, southwest of Amsterdam, close to the City of The Hague, the capital of South Holland.  See Map

Voorburg has a population similar to Temecula; however, while Temecula's area incorporates 26 square miles, the city of Voorburg encompasses barely 3 square miles. Recently, the cities of Voorburg and Leidschendam merged, increasing the size and political influence of the entire area. The new city is known as Leidschendam-Voorburg. Visit their website.

Location: The park is located in the corner of Nicolas rd. and General Kearny rd. The park is 0.72 miles from Winchester road and 3.2 miles from Interstate 15. The park is closed to the Chaparral High School -  home of the Pumas.

On September 11, 2002, Leidschendam- Voorburg, presented the City of Temecula  with a life-size bronze sculpture entitled "Singing in the Rain", by Voorburg artist Frans Kokshoorn. as a memorial to the 9/11 victims and their families. The statue is located at the Temecula Duck Pond Park.
