Wolfpack Football PSG Minutes July 11, 2011

 

The meeting was called to order at 7:06 PM in room 201 by President Sam Lopez.  Those in attendance

 were: Sonia and Ernie Gonzalez, Julie Hayes, Tammy Diaz, Rhonda Kitley, Patty and Bryan Bell, Peter

Marshall, Lori Stys, Sandy Rush-Presley, Rudy Papaco, AnnMarie Lopez, Michelle Sliwienski, Heather

Smith, Ann Hobby, Lisa Segovia and Gina Lloyd.

 

 

Approval of minutes from last month’s meeting: Rhonda Kitley made a motion to accept the minutes,

Ernie Gonzalez made a second and all were in favor.

 

 

Coach’s Report:

·         Dead Period will run from now until August 1st for Varsity and JV and until August 2nd for

Freshmen

·         The players should be lifting during the dead period, with Varsity lifting at 8:30, JV at 9:30 and

      Freshmen at 10:15

·         The summer camp went well, with a good final showing at the Paloma passing league tournament

·         When the players return they will be coming back to the Varsity overnight camp and/or two-a-

      days, so they need to stay in shape

·         Meet the Team Night:

o   All three teams will get together in the PAC on August 27th at 6:00pm

o   Raffles to raise money will include:

§  Three signed footballs (Troy Polamolu, Hines Ward and Marcus McNeal)

§  “Call a Play”

§  Chain Gang

§  Sideline Passes

 

Athletic Director Gil Rodriguez’s Report/Season Ticket Package Pitch:

·         Season Ticket Packages will promote school spirit and raise needed revenue

o   May include preferred parking, preferred seating, Great Oak polo shirt, admittance to pre-

game tailgate party and raffles

o   Sell single game preferred seats for a premium (contact needs to be made with Gil Rodriguez

 prior to game

·         Weight Room

o   weights should be installed by August

o   should be functional, but may not include flooring

o   future fundraisers (galas) needed to fund entire project

·         Transportation Fees

o   $9,000 per season

o   each team will get buses; will not be based on funds raised

·         Recurring donations via the GOALS donation program is key to funding our program!!!!!

·         Looking at a “Walk of Champions” personalized brick walkway into stadium as another

fundraiser

·         Motion made by Sonia Gonzalez to create a set of ticket packages (Red $150, Blue $100, and

·         White $75, including preferred seating individual game prices.  See attached flyer) a second was

made by Rhonda Kitley, all in favor

 

Coach Ramirez’s Report on Varsity Overnight Camp:

·         Building team unity

·         Each varsity player will be assigned two freshman players to mentor/oversee throughout the year

·         Theme: Who Are We? and How Will You Be Remembered?

 

Nomination and voting in of new position of VIP Tent Coordinator:

Rhonda Kitley made a motion to accept the nomination, and Tammy Diaz made a second and all were in

favor.

·         Ann Hobby will coordinate the pre-game tailgate in the VIP tent with Mr. Gil Rodriguez

 

 

President’s Report:

·         We are still in need of Snack Bar Coordinators.  Gina Lloyd volunteered to help, but we still

 need one or two coordinators

·         We would like to get some season tickets to a professional sporting event donated to the team so

that it could be raffled at the Meet the Team Night on August 27th.

 

New Business:

·         Sonia Gonzalez is going to have the logo on football apparel changed so that it includes the three

wolves from the new school logo.  She needs $4000 to place her first order of the season which

 will include warm weather apparel.

·         Tammy Diaz made a motion to pay $4000 for the first apparel order, Peter Marshall seconded the

 motion.  All were in favor

 

Next meeting will be Thursday, August 4th at 7:00 in Coach Robinson’s room.  The meeting was moved to

 Thursday so that PSG members could help serve dinner at the Varsity Overnight Camp August 1st-3rd.

 

 

Meeting adjourned at 8:38 pm
