For The Class of 2011-2012

Dear Senior and Parents,

The Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Temecula Valley is celebrating its 25th year of providing senior scholarships and the time for acquiring applications approaches rapidly. Last year we presented over $170,000 in scholarship donations to Temecula Valley Unified School District seniors. The following information provides answers to the most frequently asked questions regarding our policies and application process. An additional multi-year scholarship by the Roripaugh Family Foundation will be offered again this year through the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation process. Policies:

Policies
  1. Any senior with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher qualifies for these academic scholarships and may apply.
  2. Volunteer hours will be verified by school site counselors and could be a determining factor in scholarship awards.
  3. The minimum scholarship awarded is $250.
  4. Monies awarded will be sent directly to the recipient’s college of choice upon proof of enrollment, not to the student, as this may affect the needs based scholarship.
  5. Students may be awarded more than one scholarship through the Foundation.
  6. Scholarships awarded outside the Foundation do not affect eligibility, except in the case of a full-ride scholarship.
  7. Scholarships will be awarded at an exciting event the evening of May 7, 2012 at Chaparral High School in the gymnasium at 6:30 PM. Award winners must be present to receive any scholarships.
Application Process
  1. Applications will be available online at www.temeculascf.org from January 23rd until February 24th, 2012. There will be daily announcements at your school site.
  2. If necessary, you can visit your school's Counseling/Career Center, Computer Lab, or Library and use a computer to download the application.
  3. There is a "SAMPLE APPLICATION" posted for your reference. It may be helpful to you in understanding what each field requires.
  4. Applications should be printed on white paper only and must typed in black ink.
  5. Transcripts of the student's school record will need to be attached.
  6. Completed applications, including transcripts, essay, and letter of recommendation, must be returned to your school’s Career Center or Counseling Office no later than February 24th, 2012 by 3:00 PM. Late applications cannot be accepted.

Questions concerning the application process can be submitted through the Foundation website or you may call the numbers below.
