Roripaugh Family Foundation

Scholarship Program

The Roripaugh Family Foundation will provide a scholarship available to eligible and qualified students who are graduating from the three public high schools located in the Temecula Valley.

Terms of Scholarship

·         The Annual Award is $2,000 per year per student.

·         The Award may be used for qualified tuition and related expenses as provided in Internal Revenue Code section 117(a), as well as living expenses related to their educational pursuit.

·         The scholarship may be renewed each year, for a minimum of three additional years (total four year scholarship), if the recipient continues to meet all the above criteria, make satisfactory progress in his or her education and training, and maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average.

·         The funds can be used for tuition, books, fees, and/or room and board.

·         Progress reports showing courses taken and grades received (or some other evaluation of progress if the recipient’s course of study does not lead to grades) must be provided to the Foundation at least once per academic year, and such report will be approved or otherwise verified by the educational institution.

·         If the recipient fails to maintain a 3.0 GPA for the academic year, but does achieve a minimum 2.75 GPA for such year, or has achieved an overall 3.0 GPA since matriculation, the recipient shall be placed on probation for the following year.  Should the recipient fail to attain a minimum 3.0 GPA for the probationary year, the Scholarship shall terminate.

·         The recipient shall maintain a full time academic schedule in each year of the Scholarship.

·         The university or college must be an accredited academic institution offering two or four year programs, or an accredited vocational training school.

Eligibility Requirements

·         The Applicant must be enrolled as a student in one of the three  public high schools located in Temecula, California, and have a minimum 3.0 overall grade point average.

·         The Applicant must be applying for enrollment as a full time student in a fully accredited two or four year college, university or vocational training school.

·         The Award is intended to provide financial help to students whose academic and extra-curricular activities demonstrate a strong desire and commitment to completing his or her education.  The Foundation is seeking students who have drive, passion, focus, and academic performance beyond the minimum requirements.  Although academic performance is of secondary importance.

·         The selection committee will consider the Applicant’s

o        Personal character

o        Commitment to personal achievement; and

o        Desire to complete his or her education.

Application Procedure

       Each Applicant is required to submit

·         A completed Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation application.

·         A second Letter of Recommendation from a teacher, community member, etc. as directed in the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation application.

·         A second short essay prompt on a separate sheet of paper less than 500 words. 

 Why are you motivated to pursue a higher education?

       Please attach these two additional items to the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation application and submit as directed on page one of the CSF application.
