They spent the weekend at the 2006 Temecula Valley Balloon and Wine Festival. But, not like most of the crowd that attended. Instead, the members of the Great Oak High School Baseball team, parents and boosters spent their 18-hour days on the fringe, parking thousands of cars in the sun and dust of the parking lots.

"They served as our front line, parking cars for the duration of the Festival." stated Carol Popejoy who recently handed Great Oak's baseball coach Eric Morton an $8,000 check. "The 2006 Festival was unseasonably warm with temperatures in the hundreds and this team never quit. They did a phenomenal job."
The donation was in recognition of their volunteer work and long hours of organizing the parking at the Festival held last June.
The annual event will celebrate its 24th year in the valley June 1-3, 2007 at Lake Skinner. For more information visit www.tvbwf.com or call (951) 676-6713.
