Call for Entries: Filmmakers & Bands

For over a decade, filmmakers and musicians from across America and around the globe have come to Temecula every September to participate and enjoy the two most influential, most enduring, most entertaining art forms and commerce: Film and Music.    Now in its 12th year, TVIFF is ready to roll again this fall, September 13-17, 2006 at The Movie Experience 10 at Tower Plaza (25735 Ynez Road).

TVIFF’s tradition of presenting excellence in film and music has featured emerging styles from North America and 20+ countries around the world—and this year will be no different. The festival is announcing its traditional Call for Entries for both film and music as officially open.

The festival is open to US and Foreign films in five categories:  Full Length Features, Shorts, Documentaries, Animation and Student Films.  To be eligible, a film entry must have been completed in 2004, 2005 or 2006. All film entries must be submitted on ½” VHS NTSC Videocassette or DVD to be considered for selection.  All styles, genres and film lengths are welcome.   Entries can be submitted by logging on to www.withoutabox.com.

The music competition component of TVIFMF is designed to showcase the music vision and artistic wizardry of talented individuals and groups from across America and the world. Emerging, up and coming unsigned performing artists and bands of all genres of music, from Rock, Jazz and Pop, Hip Hop, R&B, Latin, Country, Folk, and World are accepted. (No lip synching allowed).  Music entries can be submitted by logging on to www.sonicbids.com.  Entry deadline for both film and music entries, is July 15th 2006.  Applications can be downloaded also by logging on to www.tviff.com

TVIFF has had the privilege to honor distinguished honorees and guests including icons of past and present such as the legendary Ray Charles,  Robert Wise, Karl Malden, Carl Reiner, Mary Steenburgen, Etta James, Louis Gossett, Jr., Shirley Jones, Billy Preston, Isaac Hayes, Ted Danson, Rick Schroder, Adrian Paul, Man on Fire, Mr. & Mrs. Smith producer Lucas Foster, Academy Awards producer Gil Cates, Saturday Night Fever director John Badham, West Wing’s John Spencer and Martin Sheen, Star Trek’s William Shatner, Entertainment Tonight’s Leonard Maltin, AFI’s Jean Picker Firstenberg, USC’s Dean Elizabeth Daley, Sundance’s Geoffrey Gilmore, My Cousin Vinny’s Jonathan Lynn, film composers’ Trevor Rabin and Steve Dorff, to name a few.
